From its historic squares and narrow streets to the vibrant culture of its coastal Georgia surroundings, the city of Savannah exemplifies great urbanism and design. Almost three hundred years of civic and architectural excellence have created a city where attention to detail and tradition are built into every block. Yet Savannah and its region face their own challenges—protecting its character, addressing inequality, adapting to a changing climate.
For our 26th annual Congress, CNU explored Savannah, Georgia—a fascinating American place, from its world-famous historic core to its fast-changing outer reaches, that demonstrates the value of excellence in urbanism.
